William Hayes Beck, 81 of Apple Valley died on Thursday May 29, 2019 at the Apple Valley Villa.  He was born on September 8, 1937 in Anoka, Minnesota, the son of Clarence and Dorothy Beck. From his start in a one room schoolhouse he went on to graduate from St. Francis High School.  He married Margaret Kalow on August 21, 1965 in Columbia Heights.  They lived in Anoka from 1968 to 2003, spent some time in Bovey, MN and a few years after Margaret passed away he moved to the Villa in Apple Valley.

He loved spending time with family, especially with his grandchildren. He served his country in both the National Guard and the Army. He loved fishing, traveling, church, and visiting friends. He also believed in hard work spending more than 40 years working for Federal Cartridge in Anoka.

Survivors include his son William “Willy” (Debbie) Beck of Rosemount, MN, a daughter; Nancy (Chris) Frederick of St. Cloud, MN; Five grandchildren: Amy Beck, Caia, Drystan and Arrietty Frederick and Nicole Evans; and three great-grandchildren.  Also survived by his brothers and sisters: Robert (Peg) Beck, Bevan (Cheryl) Beck, Jane Prouty, Malcolm (Brenda) Beck, Marianne (Tom) Graber, a brother-in-law, Ed Kalow and numerous nieces and nephews.

Service Wed. 12 noon at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 16200 Dodd Lane, Lakeville with visitation one hour before. Interment Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Little Falls, MN.
