Verna Ilene Corgan

91, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died peacefully on Thursday, June 9, 2016. Born December 12, 1924 in Pequaming, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Ellery E. Michaels and Bernice Boodry Michaels.
A quiet woman who shied from attention, Verna was both loving and loved. She opened her heart and home generously throughout her life, and she will be deeply missed by all who remember her: her sister Mary Swartz; children Verna C., Virginia (Ron Rengel), Robert “Cori,” and Tiffany (Norman King); daughter-in-law Jolene (Phil Yenor); grandchildren David Rengel, Peter Hames (Lori), David Corgan (Elexis), Gloria “Catheryn” King, Vanessa Henley (Joe), Stephen “Alex” King, Theodore “Teddy” Corgan, and Jillian Corgan; great-grandchildren Gina and Tyler Green, Lucy Henley, and Aurora and Conan Corgan; and countless extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert “Bill”; siblings George, Ellery, Harold, and Lyle Michaels; son William; and son-in-law Jeffrey Adams.
Verna’s life will be celebrated in a memorial service at 11 AM Monday, June 20 at Epworth United Methodist Church, 3207 37th Avenue South, Minneapolis, with a luncheon following.
