VENITA C. ROY
Venita C. Roy, 69, of Apple Valley died in her home Thursday, September 3. She was born September 25, 1939 in Mason City, Iowa to Erwin and Cornelia (nee Lang) Siewertsen. Venita grew up in Rock Falls and Floyd, Iowa, graduating from Floyd High School at age 16. She married Oliver D. Roy on September 5, 1959, and moved to Apple Valley in 1980. Venita loved her grandchildren, Baseball, baking (especially Christmas cookies, which she started baking about Thanksgiving), attending church, and making everyone around her happy. She was an Administrative Assistant for the Law Firm of Faegre & Benson, LLP of Minneapolis for over 25 years.
Venita is survived by daughters Delanie Roy and Denise (Derek) Clendening, sons Derrick and Devlin (Katie) Roy, sisters Sue (Jack) Patton, Martha Torres, and Olene “Tootie” (Al) Schroeder, brother Maynard (Debra) Siewertsen, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. Venita was preceded in death by her husband Oliver in 2005, and son Darren in 1990.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday, September 9 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 13900 Biscayne Avenue, Rosemount, Minnesota. Visitation is 5-8 PM Tuesday, September 8 at the Henry W. Anderson Morturay, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley and 10-11 AM Wednesday at the church.
