Steve Loosbrock, a cherished soul who touched the lives of many, passed away surrounded by family on June 30, 2023. Born to Marvin and Lois Loosbrock on September 1, 1947 in Adrian, MN, Steve’s presence brought joy and warmth to all who knew him.

Steve’s journey began in Lismore, MN as the middle son of three boys. He attended St. Anthony Catholic School, where he laid the foundation for his education and values. He continued his studies at St. John’s University, where he nurtured his passion for learning and personal growth. After completing his education, Steve embarked on a career as an accountant at Pillsbury.

However, it was his tenure at Blue Cross that would become his professional legacy. Joining the company in 1971, Steve established the treasury department and continued leading the department as Vice President, Treasurer until his retirement in 2002.

During his time at Blue Cross, Steve’s life took a beautiful turn when he met Sandy, the love of his life. Steve and Sandy united in marriage on February 2, 1980. Together, they navigated life’s joys and challenges, creating a nurturing and loving home for their two children, Pete and Jill. Steve and Sandy’s life together lasted 39 wonderful years until her passing in 2019.

Steve had a passion for sports, especially golf and baseball. As an avid golfer he was a member at The Strand Golf Club in Naples. Steve enjoyed spending the last 20 years of his life splitting time between Eagan, MN and Naples, FL where he and Sandy made many memories hosting friends and family at their home in Naples.

Family was of the utmost importance to Steve, and he found immeasurable joy in being a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind his son Pete (Jenny) Loosbrock, daughter Jill (Tommy) Stenzel, grandsons Cale and Tanner Loosbrock, and Cody Stenzel. Brother Mark (Jeanne) Loosbrock, sister in-law Vickie Loosbrock, sister in-law Deb (Mike) Sherry, brother in-law Dick Jarchow and many nieces and nephews.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife Sandy Loosbrock, brother Gary Loosbrock, parents Marvin & Lois Loosbrock, father and mother in-law, Val & Murt Jarchow, and brother in-law Tom Jarchow.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 PM, Monday, July 10, 2023 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley, MN and one hour prior to Mass at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 11, 2023, Church of St. Peter, 1405 Highway 13, Mendota, MN.  Steve will be laid to rest next to his wife, Sandy at Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights.  In Lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made in Steve’s name to the American Heart Association (www.heart.org). Funeral Services will be live streamed on Church of St. Peter website.
