Holt, Sheldon
Age 91 of Lakeville, died peacefully on Monday, February 1st, 2021.
Sheldon was born in Jamestown New York on August 15th, 1929 to Carl and Alphild Holt. After finishing school he met Betty and they married in 1952. He was enlisted in the Navy and left a few days after the wedding. Those first few years while in the Navy they lived in many places before settling in Minnesota where Shel began working with the US Postal Service. After 32 years of dedicated service he retired. Shel and Betty welcomed their only child, Pamela in 1956. They resided in Eagan where they lived most of their life on Marble Lane. They gained many of friends between the neighborhood, Shel’s time as a volunteer firefighter, and the congregations of the churches they had been members of over the years. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and spending time with his grandchildren.
He will remain in the hearts of those who loved him the most; his wife of 69 years, Betty; daughter, Pam (Jon) Jorgenson; grandson, Tyler (Kristin) Jorgenson; granddaughter, Jamie Jorgenson; great-granddaughter, Celia Jorgenson; and many other relatives and friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lutheran Via De Cristo of Minnesota. Shel spent time volunteering at the Shakopee Women’s prison and sponsoring inmates to follow the path to Christ while incarcerated.
