GAMBER

Ruth, age 89, of Apple Valley, MN, formerly of Pipestone, MN, passed away unexpectedly on October 30, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; 4 brothers and a sister-in-law, Howard & (Geraldine), Cecil, Ralph and Francis McDaniel. Ruth is survived by her son, Spencer (Elizabeth); her daughter, Mary (Tom) Sherman; 6 grandchildren, Brandon, Ethan and Lauren Gamber, Alex, David and Maria Sherman; a sister, Julene (Dean) Swanson; a brother, Ronald (Louise) McDaniel; 2 sisters-in law, June and Shirley McDaniel; nieces, nephews and many friends. Ruth lived in Pipestone for nearly 70 years and was very active at the 1st Baptist Church singing in the choir and working with the church’s women’s groups. She managed in-home day care for many years and later in life she found a great joy in her life, painting. Ruth eventually painted over 1, 000 picture in her lifetime. Donald and Ruth were also emergency and long term foster parents to many children for over 10 years while living in Pipestone. Funeral services for Ruth will be held on Saturday, Nov 2nd at 2 PM at the Apple Valley Baptist Church, 964 Garden View Drive, Apple Valley, MN with her visitation one hour prior to the service in the church. On Sunday, Nov 3rd at 1:30 PM a funeral service will also be held at Faith Community Church in Pipestone with her visitation one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will follow the service in the New Woodlawn Cemetery in Pipestone.
