Doom, Roger Edward 67, at his home in Apple Valley, where he was comforted during his final hours by family and friends. Born July 5, 1940, Roger joined his parents, Henry & Clare Doom and brother, Denis Doom on Dec. 21, 2007. He valued the importance of hard work and never forgot his upbringing in the rural MN farm life. Roger loved the country, horses and his ranch located in Canby, MN where he spent many long weekends. He was a longtime member and past president of the Cabelerros del Norte, a group that shared his love for riding horses, telling stories and the companionship of friends. Roger is survived by his loving companion and best friend, Ramona Hennen; two sons, Todd, and Jeff (Gretchen); grandchildren, Maxwell and Katherine; siblings, George (Suzanne) Doom, Daniel (Rose) Doom, Carolyn (Ralph) Hieb, Chally (Chuck) Streff, Marce (Bob) Hemming, Lynn (Rich) Williams, Kevin (Julie) Doom and Joe Doom; sister-in-law, Margaret Doom. Roger will also be missed by his horse, Jack, and his adopted dog, Tucker. Please join us in celebration of his life. Visitation 5-8 PM Wednesday, December 26 at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave, Apple Valley, MN 55124. Funeral services 1 PM Thursday, December 27 at the Church of the Risen Savior, 1501 E Cty Rd 42, Burnsville, MN 55306, 952-432-5222. There will be a visitation for an hour before mass at the church, as well as a gathering of family and friends after the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
