WATIER
Robert W. “Bob”, age 71, of Apple Valley, MN passed from this world to a better place on January 15, 2009. He was a husband, father, grandpa, brother and friend. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Frieda Krause Watier; and beloved son, Pierre. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Donna Schaefer Watier; cherished son, Andre (Jennifer); precious grandchildren, Brittany and Brandon; daughter-in-law, Kris Puls Watier; two sisters, Joy (Dick) Griebel and their children & grandchildren, and Flora Kramar; mother-in-law, Wanda Schaefer; sister-in-law, Joan Schaefer (Bill Parkis); boyhood friends, Rich Bassing and Bruce McCurdy; best buddies, Neil and Sharon Hahn and their children; friends and neighbors, the Chabots, Boltons, Jacksons and Greeley families. Bob was a graduate of the University of Michigan and held positions in sales for Westvaco and International Multifoods. He will be remembered as a hunter, fisherman, bicyclist, camper, kayaker, hockey and softball player. He enjoyed life to the fullest and fought a valiant battle with scleroderma, which eventually took his life. There will be a gathering at 9:30 AM Saturday, January 24th in Henry W Anderson Mortuary, 147th and Garrett Ave, Apple Valley, MN with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 11 AM. Memorials to the family to be dispersed at a later date.
