Rev. Daniel W. Pearson
Age 86 of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 19, 2015. Graduate of Augsburg College in Minneapolis and Augustana Seminary in Chicago. Sixty years in ministry, having served congregations in Minnesota ? parishes of Sebeka and Wadena, St. Ansgar’s Lutheran in Cannon Falls and St. Peder’s Lutheran in Minneapolis; and pioneer in the Lutheran church in the areas of welcoming LGBT, child blessings and early communion. Founding member of the Augsburg Centennial Men’s Chorus. Well known at Hiawatha golf course. Survived by: wife, Lois; sons, Stephen and Chanh (MyChou) Tran; daughters: Maureen (Michael) Armstrong, Nancy and Leanne; grandchildren: Hannah (Julian) Armstrong Stanke, Paul Armstrong, Daniel Faye and Lucille Faye; brother, Howard (Vicki) Pearson; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by sister, Lucille Swanson. Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, August 22 at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am at St. Peder’s Lutheran Church, 4600 ? East 42nd Street, Minneapolis. Memorials preferred ? Augsburg Centennial Singers, Center for Victims of Torture, The Singers ? MN Choral Artists, St. Peder’s Church.
