Raymond Hanson (Ray)
An incredible man has left this earth. Ray passed away March 29th at his home in Rosemount, after having battled leukemia. Ray was born October 11, 1937 in Madelia, Minnesota to Raymond and Evelyn (Bennett) Hanson. He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Lake Crystal High School where he met his future bride, Jean Fredericksen. He attended St. Thomas College and graduated from Mankato State College. He married Jean on June 7, 1958. They were blessed with three children: Deb, Jay, and Mike. He was well known in the personal care industry and his career in the chemical field took him to Mankato, Battle Creek, Michigan, Valencia, Venezuela, Dublin, Ohio, and the Twin Cities area. Known for his quick wit and love of family, Ray enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bridge, and reading books on World War II. He was especially drawn to the little people in our family. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Jean; children, Deb (Kevin) Kelly of Fairmont, Jay (Michelle) Hanson of Carver and Mike (Teri Jaspersen) Hanson of Mankato; 7 grandchildren, Tania (Mike) Fugazzi of Mankato, James Bowers of Eagan, Ashley (Corey) Blazejak of Fairmont, Kolin (Maggie) Kelly of Eagle Lake, Kalyn Kelly of Fairmont, Alyssa Hanson and Erika Hanson both of Carver; 7 great-grandchildren, Braydn, Jack, Ella, Carson, Mara, Kolton, and Charlie; siblings, Sandy (Al) Giese, Richard (Pat) Hanson, Linda Hanson, Vicki (Dave) Pauling; in-laws, nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a niece, aunts and uncles. May he rest in peace. Memorial Service at 11am on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Church of the Risen Savior, 1501 County Rd 42 E, Burnsville, with visitation one hour prior.
