Philly Don Nguyen,

born in Minnesota on June 5, 1998, passed away on May 9, 2023, at the age of 24. He made a significant impact on everyone he met throughout his life and will be greatly missed by all.

Philly graduated from the School of Environmental Studies and Apple Valley High School in 2016. He was a talented gymnastics coach at Elite Gymnastics Academy for 7 years upon his passing. He studied at Dakota County Technical College and planned to get a degree to further his quality of work as a coach. Philly brought enthusiasm and joy to all activities he participated in. His devotions led him to become a dancer, skater, car enthusiast, gymnast, coach, and immersed into video game lore. He never stopped growing and developing new interests. Every week Philly would be learning new skills at the gym, be at the skatepark practicing new tricks, or learning to drum on a whim. He had ambitions to build his dream car and left behind an endless list of improvements planned for his latest works, his dearest Scion TC and Hyundai Elantra. It also should be mentioned how much Philly absolutely loved his mother’s Vietnamese cooking.

Philly was always willing to make conversation with anyone, and if a topic piqued his interest, he could talk for hours. He loved people from a diverse set of communities and always showed how much he cared for his family and friends.

Philly will be deeply missed by his devoted mother Hanna Vo (Huy Ngo); father Lee Nguyen (Lan Nguyen); siblings Maily Nguyen (Brandon Bui), Carly Ngo, and Henry Ngo; as well as countless family members and friends. Philly will be remembered by the smiles he gave to all of us, and the many moments we will never forget.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 19th at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley.  Visitation Thursday, May 18th from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Mortuary and one hour prior to service.
