Mildred L. Johnson

Age 91 of Bloomington, passed away peacefully at home on April 16, 2015.

Preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Stanley W. Johnson. Also preceded in death by parents, John and Christine Ogren; sisters, Olive Nelson and Arlene Capouch; twin sister, Marion Gottlieb and brother, John Ogren, Jr.

Survived by son, Tomm (Nadia) Johnson; grandson, Nick (Molly) Johnson; granddaughter, Brianna (Derek) Nordaune; great-grandsons, Grant Johnson and Lucas Nordaune. Also survived by sisters, Eleanor Johnson and Shirley Konkol along with many nieces and nephews.

Milly was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, attending both Edgewater Emmanuel UMC in Minneapolis as well as Normandale Hylands UMC in Bloomington. Over the years, Milly served in the church as both a Sunday School teacher and summer camp counselor.

Milly was a gifted musician, blessed with a beautiful soprano singing voice. She was also a skilled and accomplished pianist. Stan and Milly sang together for many years in both the church choir and the mixed quartet.

Milly was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Family, and being with family were all important to Milly. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also very pleased when she could spend time with the family pups: Winnie, Dixie and Ruby. Milly especially enjoyed when everyone could spend time together at the family lake home.

Milly was a generous supporter of the Methodist Church along with many other organizations: The Billy Graham Association; The Mpls. Heart Association; The Make-a-Wish Foundation and Unity Christ Church to name a few.

Visitation with reviewal, 5:00-8:00pm, Monday, April 20th, 2015, at Normandale Hylands UMC, 9920 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, MN. Memorial service, 12:00 noon, Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Normandale Hylands UMC, with a visitation (no reviewal) one hour before.

Memorials preferred to the church.
