Maxine E. Mattis, age 91, of Minneapolis, MN and formerly of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005 in Bloomington, MN. Born on November 7, 1914 in Preston County, West Virginia she was the daughter of the late Lloyd W. & Margaret L. (Bucklew) Wilson. Maxine had lived in Lewisburg and Harrison Township, Preble County, Ohio since 1938. She moved to Minnesota in 2001. She had been employed at the Lewisburg Post Office retiring in 1979. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lewisburg, Ohio.

Preceded in death by husband: Frank J. Mattis in 1990. Sisters: Mildred Welshans, Myrle Warnke and Margaret Wilson. Brother: William L. Wilson.

Survived by sons & daughters-in-law: Robert D. & Judy Mattis of Brookville, OH; John J. & Joyce Mattis of Dublin, OH and Joseph W. & Diana Mattis of Longmount, CO. Daughters & sons-in-law: Grace E. & Jack Hammond of Titusville, FL and Sally L. & Robert E. Purvis of Minneapolis, MN. Sister: Edna Hetsler of Ashland, OH. 9 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church – 511 North Commerce Street – Lewisburg, Ohio with Pastor Brent L. Cavendish and Pastor Keith Magnuson officiating. Interment will be held in Salem Cemetery in Clayton, Ohio. Family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2005 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Home-411 North Commerce Street- Lewisburg, Ohio. Memorials may be made to Martin Luther Manor.
