Marilyn Marie (Ferguson) Ferrante, 66 of Rosemount, passed away in her home Saturday. She was born Dec 26, 1944 in Churdan, Iowa. She grew up in an Iowa farm community with her parents Miles & Evelyn Ferguson and older brother Duane.
She attended college in Missouri then moved to Omaha, NE, where she later joined Control Data Corporation, moving to Minneapolis with CDC in the early 70??(TM)s.
It was there she met her Husband, Martin Ferrante and they were married in April of 1977 and resided in Burnsville, MN; Naperville, IL, Solon, OH and then in Apple Valley and Rosemount, MN.
During their marriage they lost a son Gregory in 1982 at infancy, and in 1983 adopted their son Craig at 2 months.
They returned to Apple Valley in 1983 and resided there for the next 25 years. During this time, Marilyn left Control Data, became a Longaberger Basket Salesperson for 10 years and later a Caregiver for Right At Home working with Seniors in need and assisting them so they could stay in their homes. A job that she found very rewarding.
She and Marty were fortunate to have traveled to a number of places around the world, taking in new cultures and absorbing Art and History. Her greatest gift was caring for others and always willing to lend a helping hand.
She is survived by her Husband Martin, Son Craig in South Carolina, Brother and sister-in-law Duane and Barbara Ferguson, Bloomington, MN, sister-in-law Estelle Ferrante, Morristown, NJ, brother-in-law and wife Robert and Christine Ferrante, Montclair, NJ, nieces, Ronna, Michelle, Francesca, nephews Brad, Jason, Christopher and Colin.
Gathering of Friends and Family will be 4-7 PM Friday, January 28 at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley, (952) 432-2331, with a Memorial Service at 7 PM. Memorials requested to Fairview Hospice.
