Margaret E. Anderson

Age 91 of Apple Valley, born October 20, 1930 in Minneapolis to John Einar & Dorothy Ruth Johnson, went to be with her Lord on July 11, 2022.  Margaret enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved them very much.  She was a devout Christian who loved her God.  She worshipped at the South Twin Cities Church of Christ.  She was extremely hospitable and didn’t know a stranger.  Her phone was always charged and in use and it allowed her to connect with people all over the globe.  People have said “once you’re Margaret’s friend, you are friends for life”.  She was involved in a 1930’s pen pal club and loved writing letters.  In fact, that’s how she met the love of her life, Harvey.  She loved people more than material things.  If you sent her a letter or a picture 40 years ago, she has likely held onto it.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; brother and sister-in-law, John (Sue); sister-in-law, LuAnn and brother-in-law, Elwood Ruud. Margaret will be dearly missed by her children: Lowell (Silvia), Daryl, Marcia (John) Martin, and Karla (Kevin) Richardson; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Ruud; brother, LeRoy (Marilyn) and many other family and friends.

Memorial Service, 12:00 noon, Saturday, August 20, 2022, with visitation two hours before at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to House of Compassion (Rochester, MN).

Margaret will be laid to rest with her husband, Harvey, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
