Kos, M. Terry
Age 97 of Apple Valley (formerly of Rochester), passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024. He was born on August 13, 1926, in Rochester, MN to Albert and Blanche (Terry) Kos. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary; son, Peter; and brother, Richard Koss. Survived by his children, Paul (Jill) & Peggy (John) Bendt; grandchildren, Hayley, Carly, Greta, Eliza, Matthew, and Jeffrey; great-grandson, Kamari; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In his youth Terry played on the first Pee Wee baseball travelling team and the Young American Junior Team. He graduated from Rochester High School. Served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. Terry attended Hamline University and one year of Minnesota School of Business. His first job was for Hormel then Williams Printing and finally, many years as a Salesman at Custom Printing.
On October 9, 1965, he married Mary L. Ouren in St. James, MN. The highlight of their lives were their three children, six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Terry served several years on the Rochester Mustang Hockey Board and enjoyed coaching his son’s youth baseball and hockey teams. He also served on the boards of both organizations.
Terry enjoyed giving his time to the community. He volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital and Hope Lodge and was an active member at St. John’s Evangelist Catholic Church.
Funeral at 11am on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
