Lois Doreen Roffers Pearson
Age 90 of Minneapolis passed away on All Saints’ Sunday, November 6, 2022. Lois was a gifted soprano soloist and exceptional voice teacher to people of all ages. She attained Master’s degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the University of Minnesota while raising four children. Lois shared her gift and love of music through an active voice studio for 4 decades. She touched many lives serving as choir director at St. Peder’s Lutheran, Richfield Lutheran, Christ the King Lutheran (Bloomington) and St. Ansgar’s Lutheran (Cannon Falls). Lois sang first soprano in many area choirs including The Bach Society Chorus and MN Chorale. Lois was a proud member of Thursday Musical, Twin Cities Opera Guild and the Metropolitan Opera Guild. Lois was a lifelong learner who loved to travel and explore other cultures through their music and art traditions. Lois is preceded in death by husband, Rev. Daniel Pearson and son, Chánh Tran. Survived by sister, Rita Weisbrod (A. Richard); brother, Tony Roffers (Judy Grant); brother-in-law, Howard Pearson (Vicki); son, Stephen (Jackie Layton); daughters: Maureen Armstrong (Michael), Nancy Pearson (Garry Clark), Leanne Pearson, Ha Ly (Vinh), daughter-in-law, MyChau Tran; grandchildren: Hannah Armstrong (Matthew Culloton), Paul Armstrong, Daniel Faye (Lucy Martland), Lucille Faye; many nieces and nephews. Celebration of Life service on Friday, December 9 at 11:00 am with visitation at 10:00 am at St. Peder’s Lutheran Church, 4600 East 42nd St., Minneapolis. Memorials preferred to: The Singers – MN Choral Artists, Center for Victims of Torture, or St. Peder’s Lutheran Church.
