To Joan's family: I will always remember the great conversations I had with Joan over the years. Joan had opinions galore and never hesitated to share them. She always made me feel welcome and I felt as if I was part of her extended family. Joan cared about me and about my husband, my kid's and my family as she would ask about them whenever I would see her. I'll never forget a dinner she was hosting many years ago when Joan told us to arrive at around 7:02 pm...not 7 pm but 7:02 pm. That was Joan. I will miss sipping coffee with Joan at upcoming events...she was my coffee buddy and I enjoyed getting her cup the right shade of beige. Joan was a special person and her values shine through in you all, her family. We will miss Joan and she will be remembered with love and a smile.;

To all of Joan's Family, You are all in our daily prayers. Joan will be missed as any good person would be. Her smile and great personality was an asset to this world. How do we say goodbye to such a special person? We don't. We never accept the fact that this special person that's touched our hearts is gone, but what brings us peace is that Joan lives, she lives inside all of those that she has touched and she lives with God! Our Love to all of you! Kim Tepper and Family;

To Joan's family I have had the joy of being friends with Joan since our Fish and Wildlife working days. We shared a lot together. We had many small day trips with her Sears retiree friends One special one was to the Norski Nook in Iowa for their pie. It was piled high with meringue, the likes I have never seen. I had the good fortune of going to her time share at Breezy Point twice. We went to the installation of Richard Pates as the ninth bishop of the Diocese of Des Moines in Iowa. Her grandson Jason along with his friend went too. We would get together on our birthday and go and have lunch. I called her on July 23 and she said she had been in the hospital and didn't feel like company. I called her the next two weeks and she still didn't want company. The next I knew she had passed. She really was a friend in the true sense of the word. I really will miss her as I know all of you will too.;

Joan was a wonderful person to work with. Always cheerful and ready to help anybody who needed it. She has been missed here and we always enjoyed when she came to visit on special occassions. May she rest in peace.;

To Joan's family: I worked with Joan in the Human Resources Department for the Fish and Wildlife Service. She was a hoot to work with!! I remember once I hid a fake mouse on her desk and she screamed like you would not believe. I thought she was going to be so mad at me but she ran over and gave me a big hug and said "I will get you back" and laughed that wonderful laugh she shared so often". She was a wonderful kind woman who will be missed by all who knew her. It was a blessing to have known Joan and worked with her. My Prayers are with you at this time.;

To Joan?s family: These days may seem dark now and the world small but please take comfort in knowing that Joan brought much happiness to everyone she met and gained much happiness in return from you, her extended family and her countless friends. She was a spunky, good woman who challenged us to be our best, be accountable for our deeds and to care for one another. She will be forever with us in spirit, the recollection of her twinkling smile bringing joy and sunshine to our hearts.;

To the family of Joan, My name is T. J. Miller I worked with your mom at the Fish and Wildlife Service. Joan had a an attitude of gratitude and she influenced many people within the Service to appreciate what they had. She always underestimated her abilities, but when faced with a challenge always overcame it. It was very satisfying to see her reach some of her potential with the Service and she provided exceptional service for the American public. Joan was a great lady, as you know. You have my deepest sympathy at this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I will be out-of-town from this Wednesday through next week, but I will be thinking of you and Joan.;
