My heartfelt condolences to the entire family. I was so sad to hear this news. I worked with Jeff on and off for many years at SGI and Cray. He was so calm and smart, with a great sense of humor, and he always had that "spark" about him. I am thankful that I got to know him. He will be greatly missed.

Very sad to have received news of Jeff’s passing. Words are hard to come by. Jeff was a great friend through high school. I can’t imagine getting through those years without him around. As I was more shy and quiet, Jeff was always around to provide a good laugh! I will always remember driving to school together, fun times playing tennis with a great group of guys and just hanging out. Thanks Jeff! Praying you are in a better place and comfort for your family. Paul Starker

My condolences to some of the greatest neighbors one could have as a small kid. I grew up as a neighbor at the end of the road and the Sonsalla were our neighbors for as long as I can remember. I have remembrances of all of them, but with Jeff, there were three, he was a senior and I was a freshman. I remember Jeff giving me a ride home from cross country practice and then I would run from their house to mine which was about another 1/2 mile. Second, Shirley would babysit me at times when I was younger, they had this plastic airplane cockpit toy and Jeff would also play that with me, having a blast. The third was in the summer, my Dad had to leave for a dance job, and Mpm was delayed at a meeting. One of the southern Minnesota severe storms came up fast, and it was lightning and thunder, one after another. I called them, to see if they could get me, as I was uncomfortable with the situation. Here comes Jeff to get me. spent time in the kitchen having some popcorn and I lightning bolt struck just to the south. Their kitchen overlooked part of our farmland. The lightning bolt shook their brick home. Come to find out the bolt hit the highest tree on our land. I will never forget these and other memories of Jeff and this great family. My thought and prayers are with you all.

Jeff always had a great and earnest smile, and an easy way about him. My condolences to his family and other loved ones. The world is smaller without him, and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to know him, even if just a little.
