Helen M Bekke

Age 100, of Minneapolis, born August 25, 1912 in Minneapolis to Arthur and Maria Eagleton passed away July 7, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey L. Bekke; two sisters, Marian and Evelyn, and brother, Arthur. A beloved mother and grandmother, Helen will be dearly missed by her daughter, Alice; son, Douglas and three grandchildren: Peter, Timothy, and Jillian Bekke. Helen was a caregiver throughout her life, looking after many people. She was a talented artist and creative person whose skills were manifest in many ways. Helen loved to cook, and loved to feed any visitor, especially her grandchildren. More than anything else she loved and cared deeply about her family and wanted always to be surrounded by them. Thank you to Dr. Holley, to the staff at Redeemer Residence, and special thanks to all who cared for Helen through Hospice of the Twin Cities. Memorial service, 3:00 pm, Sunday, July 21, with visitation one hour before, at St Peder’s Lutheran Church, 4600 E.42nd Street, Mpls. Helen will be laid to rest with her husband Harvey at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery with a private graveside service Monday.
