George E. Houser, age 89 of Minneapolis, born March 17, 1919 in Minneapolis, passed away April 8, 2008. George was the owner and operator of the Houser Pharmacy and a member of the Minnesota Pharmaceutical Association. He enjoyed singing, and was a founding member of the Southside Singers. George belonged to the American Swedish Institute and Sallskapet, and was a longtime, active member at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. He also served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific. George is a Past Master of Minnehaha Lodge #165 A.F. & A.M., member of the Scottish Rite, Zurah Temple, Royal Arch Masons, Red Cross of Constantine and the Knights Templar. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mona, second wife, Donna and son-in-law, John Falk. George is survived by daughters, Mona Falk, Pam (Jerry) Risberg; grandchildren: Tracy (Kirk) Gillespie, Melissa (Jeff) Brunson, Andrea (Hugo) Camacho, Becky (Vinnie) Rose and Jason Risberg; great-grandchildren: Sam, Bronte, Bram and John; special friend, Berde Grass; and other family and friends. Funeral service is 5:00 PM, Monday, April 14, 2008 with visitation one hour before the service at Lake Nokomis Lutheran Church, 5011 31st Ave. S., Minneapolis. Interment Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Southside Singers.
