Gary John Gabbard,

Age 77 of Clear Lake, MN, born August 18, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa to Deloy “Shorty” & Beverly Gabbard, passed away peacefully December 5, 2023, after a prolonged health battle.

Gary’s journey through life was marked by a commitment to excellence, exemplified by his graduation from Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis, MN, in 1966. On July 10, 1965, he married the love of his life, Ruby Monster. Following his studies, Gary and Ruby initially resided in Waterloo, IA, before making a home in Denver, IA.

Professionally, Gary dedicated many years as a New Product Program Manager at John Deere in Waterloo, showcasing his skills and passion for his work. Upon retirement, he and Ruby relocated to Clear Lake, MN where they enjoyed being close to family.

Gary’s impact extended far beyond his professional endeavors. He was a guiding father figure to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love for family was evident in; every moment spent by the lake, during travels with his beloved wife, and while tinkering in the garage, ready to lend a helping hand to fix anything that needed repair.

Gary leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience. He will be dearly missed by his sons: Scott (Jo) Gabbard of Prior Lake, MN, Brian (Teresa) Gabbard of Matthews, NC and Chris (Jennifer) Gabbard of Lakeville, MN; nine adoring grandchildren: Matthew (Darian) Gabbard, Andrew (Makayla Tuomi) Gabbard, Benjamin Gabbard, Michael Gabbard, Kirsten Gabbard, Jacob Gabbard, Jeremy Gabbard, Joseph Gabbard and Hanna Gabbard and one great grandchild, Julian Gabbard.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby; grandson, Jonathan Gabbard and brothers, Ernest Gabbard and Edward Gabbard.

Visitation, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 16, 2023 with a service at 1:00 pm at Henry W Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave. in Apple Valley.  A luncheon will be held following the service at OMNI Winery & Taproom, 15701 Biscayne Ave, Rosemount, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or The American Cancer Society.

May Gary rest in eternal peace, his memory forever cherished in the hearts of those who were privileged to share in his journey.
