Evelyn “Evie” Mae McRae, 91, of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25th in Eden Prairie at Castle Ridge Care Center. Evie went to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family and will be deeply missed by all. She is preceded in death by husband, Alan McRae and siblings: Lester Cummings, Millie Storholm, Gladys Denny, Eunice Bowles, and daughter-in-law, Jacquelyn McRae. She is survived by sons, Morris McRae of Shafer and Clyde McRae of Richfield; daughter, Pamela McRae of Anoka; grandchildren: Clyde Jr., Star, Brishen, Laura, Todd, Ariel, Kori, Mark, Maria; great-grandchildren: Austin, Aja, Quintin, Saeda, Anthony, Benjamin, Gavin, Joseph, Tenzin, Jada, Axel, Nicole, Mycah, and Carter; brother, Ralph Cummings of Robbinsdale as well as an extended family with nieces, Connie Barry & Linda Ferraro; nephew, Jim Storholm and 20 other nieces and nephews.
Born October 7, 1924 and raised in Minneapolis, MN, the fifth child of Levi and Blanche Cummings, she enjoyed a successful career in advertising as a Media Buyer and retired from Martin Williams in 1985. Evie was a person of deep spiritual faith and our joyful social butterfly who enjoyed hosting Christmas Eve every year. She had a passion for many hobbies including sewing (family famous for her handmade Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls), cooking, baking, reading, travel, antiquing, and most importantly to her, spending time with family.
Services will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, March 30, 2016 with visitation one hour before at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. S., Mpls. Lunch served after the service followed by private family interment. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Castle Ridge Care Center, 625 Prairie Center Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344. All of the people there took excellent care of Evie in her last days.
