Egeberg, E. Berthina Passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011 at Augustana Health Care Center in Mpls. at the age of 102. Berthina, who was often called “B” by her friends, was born Sept. 19, 1908 to Nils & Anna Egeberg on the family farm about 2 miles from the Canadian border near Souris, ND. She was the first child in the family of 8, 6 girls and 2 boys. Berthina graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran High School and Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND. Her career included working for the Federal Reserve Bank in LA, Chicago and Mpls. for over 30 years. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Mpls. where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, assisted the church secretary and was a faithful member of the prayer chain until near her 100th birthday. She was also a very active volunteer at the Augustana Apts. where she lived for 11 years. Preceding her in death were her parents and 5 younger sisters: Esther Svaren, Ruth Lindblade, Irene Egertson, Marie Boe and Nora Kilness. She is survived by her brothers, Herman (Charlotte) of Golden Valley and Ruben (Thelma) of Rock Island, IL; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Service 1:00 PM, Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, Augustana Health Care Center Chapel, 1007 East 14th St., Mpls. Visitation one hour prior to service. Free valet parking is available. Interment Cyrus, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Oak Grove Lutheran School, Fargo, ND.
