Donald Kenneth Andrusick, 72, of Farmington, passed away May 17, 2009, following complications from an illness. He suffered from a form of anemia, MDS (Mylodesplastic Syndrome), which required frequent blood transfusions.

Don was a son of the late Henry and Nellie (Boeckers) Andrusick. He came into this world on Christmas Day, 1936, lived in Morris, MN, attended school at St. Marys and the WCSA (now part of the University of Minnesota). Don and Bonnie (Wells) Andrusick, also of Morris, married in 1956. Their son Randy and wife Karen have one son, Erick. Don was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, June (Jacobson), Henry (Ina Mae), Florence (Nystuen) and Robert (Tracy).

Don and Bonnie lived for many years in Bloomington and Apple Valley before moving to Farmington. He was a long-haul truck driver, logging over 5 million miles throughout the USA and Canada. He was forced to retire from truck driving when he became insulin-dependent.

Don was a Deacon at Community of Christ, a faithful worker at church and the campgrounds near Brainerd. His passion was helping others. Don and Bonnie both enjoyed spending time with their Grandson Erick, traveling in their RV, taking cruises, going to Hawaii, fishing, and attending MN Twins games.

Don is survived by his family, including his special British Blue cat, Teddi Bear Blue, one sister, Rosemary Burns (Kannegiesser) of Malad, ID, sister-in-law Tracy Sander, brother-in-law Larry McLane, many nieces and nephews, the “Problem-Solvers,” the church men’s breakfast group, neighbors and many friends. He will be missed by all.
