Dickey, Dennis B. “Denny”

Age 80 of Burnsville, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on July 13, 2023. Preceded in death by his parents, Stewart & Minna. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Corinne; daughters, Jodi (Tresa) and Heather; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Denny’s life journey began in Minneapolis, MN as an only child. He moved with his parents to Crystal, MN at the age of 7. Upon graduation from Robbinsdale High School, he began working at Waldorf Paper Company in St. Paul. Denny said that it was at this time that his life took a beautiful turn because he met the love of his life, Corinne. Being a determined man, Denny shocked Corinne on their first date by stating that they were going to be married! And he was right! They were married on February 23, 1963 by Corinne’s brother, Art, who had just been ordained and this was his first wedding. Together, Denny and Corinne met each of life’s joys and challenges and created a loving home for their two daughters, Jodi and Heather.

Denny attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a major in social work. His first job after graduation was as a social worker at Hastings State Hospital. He also attended seminary and served at a church in Lake City during his first year of study. He spent many years in international marketing and technology transfer. His business travels took him to China, Mexico, Canada, and across the United States.

Denny was a man of strong faith and loved to spend time with his family in the outdoors, especially during their summer trips to the North Shore of Lake Superior and while living on the Pacific Ocean in Birch Bay, WA. He also was a gifted writer who enjoyed creating poetry and stories. Denny was a people person who enjoyed bringing a smile to others. This included his goofy antics on the Wii Bowling team (his friends and neighbors will know what this means)!

Memorial Service at 11am on Thurs., July 27, 2023, at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave. S., Minneapolis, with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment at Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made in Denny’s name to Mount Olivet Lutheran Church.
