Mellon, Deloris A. (Zwack)

Age 89 of Apple Valley, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2019 surrounded by her children. Preceded in death by loving husband, George E. Mellon; parents, Fidelis and Gertrude Zwack; sister, Barbara Short; brother, George Zwack; son-in-law, Corky Schuur; and grandson, Justin Schuur. Survived by children, Kathy (Tym) Shaw, Mary (John) Lynch, Kevin (Rita) Mellon, Laurie Mellon-Schuur, Nancy Mellon, Barbara (Dan) Beeson and Peigi (John) Enzler; 15 grandchildren, Ramala, Charlot, Greyson, John, Jennie, Sean, Kelly (Kento), Nick, Sam, Jena, Chris, Drew (Samantha), Molly, Anna and Jacob; and 5 great grandchildren. Born January 20, 1930 in Moorhead, MN, Deloris followed her love of fashion from Fargo, ND to Mankato, MN where she met George Mellon on blind date. In 1957, they moved to Minneapolis to begin their married life. Together, they shared many interests including membership in MN Genealogy Society, German Group and the MN Historical Society. As a stay at home mom, she shared with us her love of antiquing, the joy of being outdoors and how to make any situation a good time. Most importantly Deloris loved her family, spending time with kids and grandkids, traveling or just being up at the lake – any lake. As she would say, “my suitcase is always packed, let’s go!” Visitation from 4-7pm on Mon., May 6, 2019 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am on Tues., May 7, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 13900 Biscayne Ave. W., Rosemount, with visitation one hour prior. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
