Obituaries

I'm sorry to learn of the death of Pete Eisele. He was a good friend for more than 50 years. I knew him as a devoted son, a loving husband and father, an honorable businessman, an aware and involved member of his community, a committed churchman, and a faithful follower of Jesus. His encouragement and shared wisdom was an early and enduring source of support for a once-young pastor, as we, together with others, imagined the gift that Grace Lutheran would be in the Apple Valley area through structures and ministries that serve the cause of the Gospel. Sue and I offer our prayers for comfort for all of you in his family as you grieve his death. We also offer prayers of thankfulness for the life long ministry of cheerful hope that Pete offered up in the face of life's sometimes painful actuality. God's grace surely was the source of Pete's hope, and that grace lived in him to the blessing of many, many people. May his name be remembered among those of whom Christ says: 'Well done, good and faithful servant.'
