Catherine C. Scholtes

Age 74 of Rosemount, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by family on May 9, 2023.

Born April 18, 1949 in Minneapolis to Vinal and Betty Gay Nelson.

She is preceded in death by her brother Jim Nelson.

Cathy will be dearly missed by her husband, Ray; daughters, Stephanie (Ken) Alvarez and Gretchen (Mark) Monson; grandchildren, Manny and Spencer Alvarez and Hazel and Ben Monson; brother, Tom (Sally) Nelson; sister, Sue (Dan) Substad along with many other family members and friends.

Cathy was a proud Roosevelt graduate class of 1967. She met the love of her life Ray Scholtes at the age of 19 married for 52 years. Her Pride and joy were her two daughters and four grandchildren, she was there for every birthday, major milestone and attended countless activities to support and cheer on her grandchildren. Cathy had a special way of making everyone feel important and special and she never shied away from a good hug. She always arrived in style looking her best. Creatively expressed herself through painting, sewing, crafting, framing, art, and gardening. Sharing her skills and knowledge with the Girl Scouts and her grandchildren. She enjoyed a good treasure hunt, searching for artwork, frames, pottery, or any gem that could be fixed and repurposed. We will miss her smile, laughter, unconditional love, and support.

Memorial Service, 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 18, 2023 with a visitation one hour before at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley.
