Age 84 of Apple Valley, born Christmas Day, 1938 in Glencoe, MN to Edward & Dorothy Zarnke, passed away peacefully, November 4, 2023 in Apple Valley, MN.
Barb worked for Northwest Airlines for nearly 33 years and then at Eastview HS in the lunchroom. She was a member and past president of Apple Valley American Legion Auxiliary Post 1776 where she logged many hours of volunteering. She loved people, and they loved her. She was always ready to have fun – be it a bus trip, poker party, a night at the club, off to the casino or a family get together, she was always ready to party!
She is preceded in death by her sons, James and Randy Schauer; grandson, Justin; sister, Joann Schauer brother, LeRoy Zarnke and the love of her life, Chuck Pregler.
Barbara will be dearly missed by her sons, Bruce and Kevin (Lisa) Schauer; daughter-in-law, Jill Schauer; grandchildren: Nicole (Kurt), Jason, Angela, and Brian; sister, Beverly Weber; brother, Ed Zarnke and many other family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Avenue in Apple Valley.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Apple Valley Legion from 1:00 to 4:00PM, Monday, November 13th with lunch, cocktails and memories.
Barbara will be laid to rest at Lebanon Cemetery in Apple Valley at a later date.
