My great uncle Art, was a wonderful blessing to have in my life. I will never forget the time when, Art took me to my first World Series Game, which was the "Minnesota Twins", in 1987. It was so cool, because I got to see, "Heuy Lewis and the News", in the VIP box, from afar. I will always remember the memories he made in my life, so I can pass the stories on to my children, and so forth. He will be forever missed.;

In life we all face hardships, challenges and demands, though nothing compares to the loss of a loved one such as Uncle Art. I thought of him more as a Father throughout the years as he set aside his own life and time to ensure his family was always number one. Our thoughts and personal prayers are endless and we'll miss Art sorely.;

My mother Beth (Almquist) Negley is Art's first cousin. She loved Art and he would often drive up to visit. Mom talked about how she wanted Art to become a teacher because when she was little he would spend hour teaching math to her. I remember how good he was to bring Aunt Sarah to family functions. Art and his brother were my first sponsors when I became a missionary. The first time I met his soon to be wife, I was surprised she knew who I was. She said he had my picture and had told her about me. He was so good to come to all our weddings. I remember him visiting when I was young and always playing board games with my brothers and myself. Art was a great person and was so good to his family. He was a great example of Christian love. Giving to others and never asking anything in return. The last time I saw him was at his wife’s funeral but have thought of him often. And take great comfort that I will see him again. Jennell Pettit;

Uncle Art Gentle soul-It is very likely the most dominate reflection of those who knew him. Devoted-I can’t recall a visit when he did not make himself readily available. While he had a career, it seemed as if he shared his devotion to family without effort. He was always present when family was together – absorbing every moment of time he could capture. Faithful-His patient loving care of his parents, Arthur and Esther, through their declining years, and later in life when he met and married his love Doris, he again showed that same depth of faithfulness. Loving-He life was a testimony that the heart has capacity to love in infinite numbers. Listener-He did not waste words, but waited patiently until something was said that required a thoughtful answer delivered in a patient, quiet voice. Funny-His quiet demeanor made it particularly riotous when he heard something that required a spectacular one liner. Loved
