Arnold William Stiehm,

age 89 of Minneapolis. Arnie passed away at home surrounded by family and loved ones on June 29. He was preceded in death by wife Evelyn and brother Fred. He is survived by wife, Consuelo “Connie” Peterson; daughters: Rosanne (Michael) Monten, Roberta (Thomas) Allen, Reonne (Mark) Johnson, Rita (Joseph) McDermott, Robin (Richard Hager) Stiehm; grandchildren: Adam, Kevin, Luke, Katherine, Jesse, Niki, and Amber; stepchildren, Susan (Roger Sharpe) Peterson, and Jonathan Peterson. Arnie was born on May 16, 1919 in St Paul, MN. He was an Army vet who served in Europe, the Mediterranean and the Pacific during WWII. Arnie and Evelyn were married on June 25, 1947. They were dedicated to their five daughters and spent 32 years together until her death in 1979. Arnie worked at Williams Steel and Hardware and retired in 1981. Arnie had a vigorous and active retirement, working as a carpenter and handyman into his 80s. In that time, he met and married Connie Peterson. Arnie enjoyed golfing and snowmobiling at his cabin in Wisconsin. He will be greatly missed by all. Arnie’s family extends a special thanks to Fairview Home Care and Hospice, and especially his hospice care nurse, Andrea. A memorial service will be held 2PM, Tuesday July 15, 2008 with visitation at 1:30pm at Lakewood Memorial Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. Mpls., MN.
