April D. Leung
On Wednesday, October 28th around 3:15 PM April Dawn Leung passed away at home. Her family had the blessing of being by her side when God welcomed her home. April was born on June 22, 1963 in Minneapolis. She grew up mostly in Waseca, MN and Tempe, AZ. It was in Tempe while attending Arizona State University, she met Bo. They both graduated from ASU and got married in 1988. Because of Bo’s airlines career, they moved to Honolulu and lived there for 13 years where their two sons were also born. In 2004 they decided to move back to Minnesota where they could be closer to April’s grandmother, who was in her 90’s at the time. In 2012, April was diagnosed with a grade 3 anaplastic oligodendroglioma. For the past 8 years she had gone through two brain surgeries, a radiation treatment and numerous rounds of chemo therapies. In the course of fighting the cancer, she encouraged and inspired many others.She always had joy and peace in her despite the hardship and suffering that came with the disease. April gave her family a very fulfilling life. She is now in Heaven enjoying the presence of our Lord where there will be no tears and suffering. April is survived by her husband, Bo Leung; sons, Timothy and Philip; parents, David Dressel and Vikki Okpara; and sister, Susan Gover. She is preceded in death by her brother, Paul Dressel. The memorial service will be held this Wednesday, November 4that 4 PM at Trinity Evangelical Free Church. In lieu of flowers or contributions, donations can be made to Trinity’s overseas missionaries.
