Widboom, Aaron Michael

Aaron Michael Widboom was born on October 19, 1978 in Worthington, MN.  He was raised on the family farm north of town and graduated from Worthington High School in 1997.  He attended Worthington Community College and was a proud Minnesota Gopher Alumni, graduating in 2002.

Aaron taught school in the Twin Cities metro area for one year, before embarking on the adventure of his lifetime as a teacher in Ulsan, South Korea.  It was there he met the love of his life, Charisma Enaje.  From the moment they met they were inseparable, began dating and exploring South Korea together.  Aaron and Charisma returned to the United States in July of 2005 and were united in marriage on September 24, 2005.  They moved to St. Paul, MN and began their married life together.  They looked forward to their many vacations to visit Charisma’s family and spend time on the beaches of Manila, Philippines.

Aaron and Charisma spent their early years of marriage traveling, enjoying adventures and delicious Filipino cuisine together.  Aaron began his 13-year career working for TSA Homeland Security in 2006.  He was a warm, caring, engaging professional who upheld his duties of protecting fellow U.S. citizens to the very end.

Aaron and Charisma became homeowners with their move to Eagan, MN in 2010.  Aaron was most proud of his family.  He relished in his role as daddy when they welcomed their first son, Dillon Alex on February 24, 2014 and their second son, Logan Max on June 13, 2016.

Aaron’s love of sports was evident in his dedication to cheering for his home state teams.  From his 1987 Homer Hankey, to his reign as a Vikings season ticket holder, to his life-long dream of witnessing a Golden Gopher Rosebowl appearance, he remained steadfast through the ups and downs of Minnesota sports.  Aaron worked as a high school wrestling official and throughly enjoyed his time on the mat.

Aaron is survived by his wife of 14 years, Charis; 2 sons, Dillon & Logan; father, John Widboom of Worthington; brother, Matt (Teresa) Widboom of Worthington; several nieces & nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents and mother, Gloria Widboom.

Visitation from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 14980 Diamond Path W, Rosemount. Funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019 also at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Lebanon Cemetery.

A time of fellowship and celebration of life will take place at First Lutheran Church, 1200 4th Ave. in Worthington, MN on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m.
