Janice “Jan” M. Worley Age 65 of Lakeville, born July 2, 1957, in Minneapolis to Dick and Dorothy Gaida, passed away June 17, 2023. Jan grew up in south Minneapolis where she graduated from Incarnation parochial school and Regina High School. She and her husband Joe were married at Incarnation Catholic Church on February 12, 1982, and, over the next four decades, lived in south Minneapolis, Apple Valley, and Lakeville. She had many interests including reading, gardening, baking, traveling, and crochet. She also loved shopping for her granddaughter, Nora. In her professional life, she worked as an administrative assistant/bookkeeper, most recently for the R&D Agency in Burnsville, MN. But her most meaningful role was as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She had a good heart and was always ready to help those in need. After her mother passed away, she cared for her father for almost 20 years. She also supported church initiatives for those less fortunate, as well as various animal rescue organizations. Jan was a very private person who was uncomfortable as the center of attention. She battled cancer quietly and selflessly, never wanting others to worry or make a fuss. Her last weeks were filled with smiles and visits from many friends and family. She passed away with her husband and daughter at her bedside. Jan is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Tim and sister-in-law, Kathy. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 41 years, Joe; daughter, Lauren (Nick) Rudolph; granddaughter, Nora; brothers: Steve, Ed (Louise) and Rick (Deb); sister-in-law, Patti and many other family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 14, 2023, at Church of the Incarnation, 3801 Pleasant Ave. S. in Minneapolis. Visitation will begin one hour before Mass at the church. Jan will be laid to rest at Lakewood Cemetery in a private ceremony. Memorials may be made to the church. |
