Nelson, Marian E.

Age 74 of Minneapolis, born July 12, 1948 in Minneapolis, to Henry & Edna Gadeberg, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, October 18, 2022.

Marian will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 51 years, Dan; daughter, Elaine (Justin) Peik; grandsons, Alexander & Anders; sister, Jeanette (Gadeberg); nieces, Rosemary (John) and Mariel (Eric); great-nieces and nephews: Sebastian, Luca, Theo, Nolan, Lucy, Evangeline and other family and friends.

Marian’s deep connection to her Norwegian heritage and family provided her with an ongoing passion for the Scandinavian community here in MN.  She was active in several Scandinavian organizations, including many cultural activities at the American Swedish Institute and worked at Ingebretsen’s in Minneapolis.

Funeral service, 10:00 AM, Friday, October 28, 2022 with a visitation one hour before at Lakewood Memorial Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Ave. S., in Minneapolis.  Marian will be laid to rest at Lakewood Cemetery following the service.

Memorials may go to Scandinavian cultural organizations.
