Johnson, Donald R. “Don”
97 of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27th, while being held by family. Member of Living Spirit United Methodist Church. Survived by daughter, Debra; son, Bruce and daughter-in-law, Deborah; granddaughters, Tanya and Kara; and great-grandchildren, Alicia, Ashley, and Michael. Preceded in death by wife, Jerry-Mae; parents, Albert and Rose; brother, Lloyd; and sister, Virginia. Don was proud to have served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in his late teens, was a Corporal in World War II, enjoyed Gopher hockey, Twins baseball, walking around Lake Nokomis (up to twice a day well into his 90’s), hunting grouse, and spending time with his family and friends. Visitation Monday, March 7th, starting at 10AM; service at 11AM; Henry W. Anderson Mortuary (3640 23rd Ave. S., Minneapolis, 612-729-2331).
