William “Bill” Huston Patterson Age 54, of Apple Valley. Passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 3, 2007. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend. Preceded in death by parents, Paul & Mary Jane (Gaubatz) Patterson. Survived by wife, Stella Johnson; children, Sarah and Paul (Vicky); stepchildren, Kristen and Alex; as well as many other relatives and friends. In addition to his family, Bill loved his work with the community, sailing, and all things computer related. He graduated from Northwestern Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity Degree and was ordained in June 1980. He was called to his first position at St. Philip The Deacon Lutheran Church of Plymouth in 1980. In 1984, Bill began working with a mission congregation at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Bethel, MN as Mission Developer. In 1986, he became the congregation’s first minister. After his time with the ministry came to a close, Bill found a new calling working in community education at Wayzata, Rosemount, Fridley and most recently as Director of Community Education in Farmington Public Schools. Bill’s generosity humor and leadership will be sorely missed by his family, friends, colleagues and the community. Memorial Service Monday, May 7, 2007 beginning with visitation at 3pm followed by Celebration of Life Service at 4 pm at the Farmington High School Auditorium, 800 Denmark Avenue, Farmington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made.
