Wallace “Wally” S. Bjorkstrand,
Age 88 of Minneapolis, born Tuesday, February 11, 1936 in Alexandria, MN to Walter & Gertie Bjorkstrand, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 28, 2024. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Violet “Vi” (nee Dorion); brothers: Russell, Carl, Roger, Clarence and Clifford and sister, Bernice. Wally will be dearly missed by his sons: Perry, Tim, Dan (Jeanne), Matt (Kathy), Wally (Rolando), and Jon (Joann); 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Joe) Miller and Jean Logan; sisters-in-law Bonnie and Joan as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Wally was a devoted Minnesota Sports Fan following the Twins, Vikings and Gophers. He was the loudest and most excited fan while watching the game whether it was on TV or in person, especially when it was his sons and grandchildren wrestling or playing football. Wally was a good man, happy to strike up a conversation with anyone and he was first in line to lend a helping hand to someone in need from giving a ride to a friend of a friend stranded at the airport to someone in need of money to get them out of a bind – no strings attached.
