Kane, Virginia I. “Gina”

Age 97 of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2018. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Kane; sisters, Patricia Richter and Dona McGinnis. Survived by her children, Candy (John) Samuelson, Terry (Tracy), Richard, Catherine and Bill (Lisa) Kane; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. The loss of “Aunt Gina” will be felt by her many nieces and nephews as well. She graduated in 1939 from Roosevelt High School. Volunteerism, world travel and social activity were enjoyable to Virginia. She was adding her alto voice to St. Albert’s choir for 40 years and was one of the founding members. Party invitations were never turned down by Gina and she had many younger friends who enjoyed her presence at social gatherings. She was in great shape all the way into her 90’s. Her younger friends would marvel at her ability to still touch her toes. Virginia was a rather quiet and petite person, but her family and friends will miss her in a big way. Visitation from 5-7pm on Thurs., Feb. 1, 2018 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23^rd Ave. S., Minneapolis. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am on Fri., Feb. 2, 2018 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 2836 32^nd Ave. S., Minneapolis, with visitation one hour prior. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
