Valborg E. Tollefsrud

Age 96 of Edina, born April 20, 1925 in Mohall, ND to Rev. Merwin  and Burdy Tollefsrud, passed away October 22, 2021.

Valborg is preceded in death by her brother, Luther; sisters, Lois (Wilfred) Van Haren and Carol Tollefsrud and brother-in-law, Paul Sherry.  She is survived and will be dearly missed by her sister, Ruth Sherry.

Valborg graduated from Fairview Hospital School of Nursing and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing at the University of MN School of Nursing.  She was a Professor of Nursing at St. Olaf College for 44 years and served as a Colonel in the U S Army Nurse Corps for 29 years. Post retirement, she Served as a Parish Nurse at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and Minnehaha Communion Lutheran Church, and was active in the ELPNA Ministry, and Faith Community Nurse Network.

Memorials may be made to: Minnehaha Communion Lutheran Church, Parish Nurse Ministry, ELPNA Ministry, Faith Community Nurse Network (FCNN), St. Olaf College Dept. of Nursing, St. Olaf College International Off Campus and International Studies Program. Northfield, MN or Global Health Ministries.

Funeral service 11:00 AM, Monday, November 1, 2021 with visitation one hour before at Minnehaha Communion Lutheran Church, 4101 37 th Ave. S., Minneapolis.  Valborg will be laid to rest with her parents at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
