Sloss, Timothy J.

Age 77 of Farmington, passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 16, 2024. Preceded in death by his parents, James & Helen. Survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marlis; son, Andrew (Sharlay); grandchildren, Samara and Horace; siblings, Judy Brophy, Joyce Povroznik, and James “Ed”; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Tim was a skilled painter and wallpaper hanger, working in that industry for 50+ years including running his own company for over 30 years. He had an incredible eye for design and creativity. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt any chance he could. He was also a dedicated conservationist who supported organizations like Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever.

When he wasn’t hunting or fishing, he loved to tell stories and make others laugh. Tim was well known for pranking friends and relatives including his own mother-in-law and grandchildren. He was well known for his kindness, compassion and willingness to go above and beyond to help others.

Tim was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his son and grandkids with his whole heart and had an energy for playing with Horace and Samara that made it seem like he was in his 20s. This also tended to get him in trouble but for now we will ignore that part.

He coached his son’s little league baseball team every summer until high school, coaching them to two different league championships.

In his younger days he traveled in Europe going to Austria, France, Germany, Portugal, and Spain. From what we are told there are other adventures that are not fit for print.

Dad, we miss you so much and wish you had stayed here longer. We hope that you have finally had the chance to give your mom Helen a great big hug in heaven. Rest in peace.

Funeral at 11am on Fri., Nov. 22, 2024, at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley, with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made in Tim’s honor to Pheasants Forever (https://www.pheasantsforever.org/donations).
