Havnen, Thomas R., age 61, of Apple Valley, passed peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his father, William Havnen, and his father-in-law, Raymond Nusser. Tom grew up in Bloomington, attended Lincoln High School, and spent three years at Normandale Community College and Minneapolis Business College. He bravely served in the Air Force in Vietnam as an air traffic controller. He was a dedicated employee of NWA/Delta for 29 years where he forged many treasured friendships. Being a man of great honor, he recently served as a union representative dedicated to all things right and fair. He was loved by all who knew him for his sincere kindness, boundless compassion, and generosity of spirit. His engaging sense of humor brightened the day of everyone around him, and his quick wit and warm smile will not be forgotten. He is survived by his mother, Shirley Erikstrup (Erik); his loving wife of 36 years, Debra; daughters, Lori (John) and Amanda (Cody); and the lights of his life, his 4 grandchildren, James Thomas, Nevaeh, Morgan, and Raelee. Also survived by brother, Bill (Judy); step-brothers, Don (Phyllis), Erik (Pat), David (Shelley), Dan (Mary), Kirk (Tammy); nieces and nephews; and many beloved in-laws. Visitation at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley on Monday, April 25th, 4-8 PM. Funeral service Tuesday, April 26th at 11 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 7800 West County Road 42, Apple Valley.
