Shirley Eileen Arlys Anderson (Sivertson), 85, of Lilydale, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 2, 2015. She was born October 11, 1929 to Selmer and Ethel (Anderson) Sivertson in Landa, North Dakota. She grew up in Landa on the family farm and used to tell stories of feeding the chickens and taking care of the lambs.

Shirley attended college at the Bottineau Forestry in North Dakota. She met and married Roy Anderson in 1948. They lived in Watford City for several years and later moved to Minot, North Dakota. Shirley worked at several retail stores over the years, but enjoyed being a homemaker and stay at home Mom to her three children. For several years she belonged to a women’s club (The Sweet Sixteens).

Roy and Shirley were members of Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot for many years. Some of her favorite times were playing and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed reading and going to garage sales. Shirley made the best lefse and she was the self-appointed memory keeper, saving projects and stories from all of the grandchildren through the years. Shirley enjoyed every special celebration with family and friends.
In 1996, Shirley and Roy moved to Rosemount, Minnesota to be near to their family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by many.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy of 65 years; parents, Selmer and Ethel Sivertson; brothers, Ernie and Gaylen Sivertson. Shirley is survived by son, Steve (Penny); daughters, Nancy (Bob) Desch and Cindy (Larry) Boechler; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Memorial service 3PM, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave., Apple Valley (952-432-2331)with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Private family inurnment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Mayo Clinic for Alzheimers Research.
