Sara Jane Blumenstein (nee Schubauer), born November 9, 1931 in Harrisburg, Pa., found peace and understanding in joining Jesus Christ on May 5, 2014, leaving behind her battle with Alzheimer’s.

She is preceded in death by her parents Carl Augustas and Clara Virginia (nee Booth), four siblings; Ronald, Virginia, Charlotte, and Clara, daughter-in-law Mira, and granddaughter Elizabeth “Lovie” Morse. Survived by her loving husband Donald of 62+ years, sons Donald (Beckie), Carl, Bryan, daughter; Wendi (DeWayne) Morse, 6 grandchildren; Natalie, Mollie, Jonathan, Joseph, Ashley, and Sara, seven great-grandchildren, and three siblings; Patricia Lewis, Carl, and Richard Schubauer.

Sara’s life was full of love and devotion to her husband and children. Married on August 18, 1951 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, she lived with her husband in many states enjoying many adventures with her family, such as boating, sightseeing, and traveling to Amsterdam, Germany, France, England, and Alaska. Sara was a talented seamstress, cook, and author of her book “We Are Blessed”-a story of her life from birth to joining her husband in Tucson, Arizona. Sara was a 20+ year member of Grace Lutheran Church of Apple Valley, Minnesota, beginning in 1971.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 AM Saturday, May 10 at Grace Lutheran Church of Apple Valley, 7800 West County Road 42, Apple Valley, with Visitation 1 hour prior. Interment will follow in Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Health Partners Hospice and Palliative Care of Minnesota, MNHPC, or Alzheimer’s Association.
