Your family has my deepest sympathy. I go back along way with Ray. I was in high school in Delavan when Ray coached at Emmons. That was when I first respected him. Then I played some independent basketball at Albert Lea and we had Ray as a ref. More respect for him. Then I became a ref and worked some of his games at Sherburn. More respect how he cared for the kids and let us do our job as officials. Then I had the pleasure of officiating some with Ray Xander also umpiring with him. I was in the same group with Ray his first trip to ump at the state softball tournament. After about 15 minutes of our pre tourney meeting, Ray stopped the meeting and asked if he was the only one nervous. Of course he did a great job. Take care Herman family. Chuck Murry

Sorry to hear of your husband, dad, and grandpa's passing. When I spoke to him, he was always very interested in what I or other former students were doing these days. He was a great and caring person who will be missed. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Tom, Beth, Katelyn, and Emily Maday
