Tomlinson, Raymond John, age 92, previously of Minneapolis, passed away on February 7, 2017. Preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Mary Lou, daughter Kathleen Mullen, parents Hugh and Cora, and brothers Albin and Donald. He is survived by his son Bruce, daughter Nancy (James) Westcott, son-in-law Thomas Mullen, granddaughters Elizabeth (Fiancée Kevin) and Anne and grandsons David and Gabriel. Raymond was born September 13, 1924 in Minneapolis, Mn, and graduated from Minneapolis Roosevelt High School where he excelled in basketball and baseball. Upon graduation Ray enlisted and proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. For 25 years Ray was a dedicated Minneapolis Police officer who skillfully and fairly watched over the businesses, pedestrians and drivers at the intersection of 7th and Hennepin Av. After retirement Ray continued serving others as a volunteer at the Armed Forces Service Center at the Lindburgh Airport. Later in life Ray took up the game of Golf and the Hiawatha Golf Course became a second home. Memorials preferred to family. Funeral service 2 pm Saturday February 11th at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary 3640 23rd Ave S. Mpls., visitation one hour prior. Interment Ft. Snelling Monday February 13th.
