Ray was like a second Dad to me growing up, I loved his laughter and humor. Being around him always made me feel good. I'm so sorry Tim, Steve, and Delphi for your loss.

Thank you all for the lovely comments. My father did in fact love motorcycling above about all else. I'm grateful that my brother Steven and I, got a chance to take a long trip with my father back in 2008, across the US, up into the Canadian Maritimes. It was times like these that my father was in his prime. Months of preparation would go into each trip. There was the map planning, the research on towns and hotels to stay. There was of course, motorcycle preparation, and anyone who knew my father knows what that could entail. Days in the garage tweaking, designing, breaking, swearing, re-designing. The other time my father was at his best was when simple helping anyone. Not only would he never turn down the opportunity to help, sometimes he would simply insist. And once you had the attention of my father, you had the full attention of my father. And yet so many weekend days, weeknights, were spent in the garage helping his buddies, relatives, friends, and often even relative strangers fix this or that, change oil, batteries, relays. That is what I will miss most, and cherish most about my father. His complete selflessness when dealing with others. I believe it made him the happiest in this world simply to be useful. To help others brought him contentment and I hope joy. But it was so intrinsic to his nature, and he never asked or expected anything in return. We look forward to celebrating his life with anyone who can make it on Wednesday.
