Michelle Mary (Nicklay) Shaffer, age 39.

With never ending love, we say goodbye to Michelle. She succumbed to breast cancer on July 28, immersed in the love of her family. Michelle was born in St. Paul on September 3, 1971 to Robert and Arlene Nicklay. After graduating from Visitation class of 1989, she married Jeff Shaffer on August 10, 1996. Michelle was a dedicated wife and mother raising their four children, Paige (13), Grant (11), Logan (9), and Marah (6). She is survived by her parents, husband, children, five sisters Renee (Al) Seran, Ann (Dan) Casper, Bobbi (Lon) Black, Jill (Todd) Engelsgjerd, Margaret (Brad) Messerschmidt; four brothers Marty (Kathy), Mark (special friend Angela Camero), Mike (Rebecca), Pat (Heidi); 15 nieces, and 14 nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday, August 2 at the Church of St. Joseph, 13900 Biscayne Ave W, Rosemount, with visitation two hours prior. Visitation is 4-8 PM Monday, August 1 at the Church of St. Joseph. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Mendota Heights. A heartfelt appreciation to the entire community of St. Joseph??(TM)s Church and School, gracious colleagues at Relick Services and Travelers Insurance, compassionate caregivers, generous neighbors, and kind friends who collectively made this difficult 16-month journey bearable. In lieu of flowers, an education fund for Michelle??(TM)s children has been established in her memory entitled the ?Michelle M. Shaffer? Fund at US Bank, 15025 Garrett Ave, Apple Valley, MN.
