Merrill N. Engquist, age 95 of Mpls. born Oct. 22, 1918 in Lewis Lake, to Emil & Minnie Engquist, passed away Mar. 3, 2014. Merrill served in the US Army Air Force during WWII. He was active with the youth at Minnehaha Baptist Ch. for approximately 70 years and also Word of Grace Baptist since 2000. Merrill was an instructor at Dunwoody Institute, retiring in 1981 as Dept. Head of Air Conditioning. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lois; and daughters, Linda Rynkiewich and Janet Gamlin and brother, Elwood Engquist. Merrill will be dearly missed by daughters, Marcia (Phil) Reed and Karen (Dave) Swenson; sons-in-law, Jim Gamlin and Mike (Teresa) Rynkiewich; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous family and friends. Visitation, 5-8pm, Thursday, Mar. 6, at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 3640 23rd Ave. S., Mpls. and also one hour before the service at church Friday. Funeral service, 10:30am, Friday, March 7, 2014 Word of Grace Baptist Ch., 2120 E. 38th St., Mpls. Merrill will be laid to rest with his wife, Lois at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
